Wonderful venue. Just being there was a pleasure. Catching was a bonus. Hard day due to sunny conditions but all came good in last couple of hours with majority of fish coming then. Biggest barbel was 7 lbs 9 ozs and biggest chub a perfect specimen of 5 lbs 4 ozs. best thing was there was another day left (see separate report).

Great days fishing as normal. Dont know where all the ranunculus has gone. The river was the lowest I've ever seen it. The paddlers and boat people must be disturbing the weed or it's been washed away in the floods. This will have a large negative impact on the river over a longer period.
Anyway the fishing was good the largest barbel was about 4lbs and the largest chub 3lbs 14oz. With the water level low I believe the bigger fish have moved from the bottom pool.

So having not caught anything on the Tenkara day fishing at Titley, ventured downstream and had a couple of hours in the evening on Court of Noke fishing the faster stretches at the top of the beat. Conditions far from ideal with a blustery wind and squally showers. Fished that well known international combination of Tenkara rod and size 12 coch y bondhhu and had 4 wbt trout - 10", 8", 6" and 5". First fish was a real beauty and all fish are now very plump. Despite conditions was a lot of fly life including a few mayflies.

One tiddler caught in a pool in fast riffles - hooked on an emerger. Missed a couple of small bites. Tough beat given deep pools, even with water levels low, but good mix of conditions, enjoyable nonetheless.

Nothing caught, fish were hanging around in deep water, and were rising for the early morning feed. Good show of fish rising in the deeper pools with water level low, especially near the bridge - spotted one decent sized greyling too. Pub lunch highly recommended!

First time on this beat, so not sure how to fish it. However, managed six small chub on meat. An idyllic beat, peace and quiet. It's not all about the fish but sometimes it's just about being there. A wonderful day.

A relatively short session as my last day of 4 on the river and I needed to pack-up the tent and get home. Arrived at the river at 7am and fished until 1pm.
Slow start with a few chub, most barbel came in the period 10am - noon. Changed to meat and went back to a chub a cast, but changing back to pellet brought an instant bite and the fifth barbel.

Nice quiet day's fishing resulting in 5 barbel to 7.5lb, taken on the usual pellet baits. River is very clear and low now. However, river looked beautiful at first light due to the 8 degree temperature resulting in columns of mist across the water - more like a September morning.

My sardine can brimmeth over! More pleasant day than forecast with reasonable hatch and trout rising in places. All WBT caught were very small but looked to be in excellent condition.
