Spent a smashing day at Whitney Court. River ruunning quite clear on a largely bright day, but managed to land 7 Chub from 2lb 8oz to 5lb 2oz, all on cheese paste and all from the lower end of the stretch. Still not managed to catch a Barbel, but will return in the summer for another go! Thanks to Ian for meeting me early in the morning and pointing me in the right drection.

Great weather and a nice beat the only thing missing was catching a few fish!

Cracking days fishing on a stunning stretch of the river. A number of Barbel to 9.14lb as well as 4 chub to 4lb. River running low and fairly snaggy, picked up all the fish in the bottom pool - Old Wharf. Will definitely return in the new season.

The 2nd time on this beat (Legg Meadow) still no fish to-day after 11hrs of trying .

3 x Chub caught on maggots. Two at 2lb and one at 4lb.

Didn't make it, cow calving! Will try to rebook later this spring.

5 Barbel, 2 Chub on Bread and Pellet.

No fish caught. Fished from 12 - 3pm and saw no activity at all. Very little fly life visible and no fish moving. Nice bit of river though - will probably visit again later on in the year. Water was visibly a foot or so low already by the look of things.

Weather bright, light wind, water low and clear, temp 12 deg. Approx 30 chub caught between 1.5lb and 4lb, some on the float some on the lead. Maggot was top bait.

Probably a little early this far up the river! Did have a nice grayling. Great to be back on this part of the river anyway.
