A small overgrown tributary of the Lugg , that is great fun during the mayfly hatches . Went for a pleasant walk with my wife , at about half five , passing this little brook I have permission to fish and noticed a lot of activity with mayfly everywhere! Lots of splashy takes to the spent gnat! So when the walk was complete , off I went with my three weight six foot brook rod and a few of my mayfly patterns.
The activity was thinning out at about half eight when I got down there but still managed a couple of beautifully marked crackers. Great fun on the light little rod and took the spent fly pattern with confidence, both returned. Shall have a few more sessions on this small deceptive brook that's alive with little brownies . The trout population here is healthy and aquatic insects in abundance . . . along with a beautiful kingfisher!

Day started off wet and windy which resulted in tough fishing, perseverance was rewarded though with a lovely fish taken from the fast water in the lower stretch on a small Klinkhammer . There was only sporadic fly present until 17:00 when the rises began to appear, 3 fish were taken on a spent gnat before things quietened off around 19:00. Lovely stretch of river.
