Quite a strange evenings fishing really as it went quiet once the sun left the water!
Managed to catch 4 barbel early on using the usual pellets and feeder tactics.

Our first time with WUF and at Sugwas Court, was a really tough day.
Water levels were low and water clear, weather dry and mainly sunny.
We fished a total of 3 swims from 8am - 7.30pm without so much as a bite, apart from mate's line being run over by a 4 person canoe, as they came within 12 feet of the bank. Thankfully only terminal gear lost.
Having walked 90% of fishery, there were not many swims to fish and not much evidence of work done to open up more; so overall not that impressed and probably won't be returning. It is acknowledged that if we had had a red letter day we might feel differently.

The available fishing spots were very limited for such a length of river. It was frustrating to walk past many yards of unfishable river.

Stayed at The Old Vicarage Erwood, for bed and breakfast which was comfortable and conveniently situated.
River low and sun a problem. No salmon seen. Caught an 8oz brown trout which was returned.
Crossing the river to fish the Mill Race from the right bank was difficult. It is important to choose the right place to cross.
I left a switch tip coloured yellow on the left bank by the Mill Street, if anyone finds it I would like to know please.

Booking Office Note: If anyone does find it, please contact the booking office and we can arrange it's return.

Last trip of the season to Bugeilyn. Very misty and foggy all day but the fish were obliging. 10 nice sized trout landed, as usual almost as many missed. A lot of surface activity with a hatch of small black flies not sure what they were. Had to balance the size of fly with keeping it visible to me but not to big, still had missed takes. Fished up the boggy left hand side. A very enjoyable session, looking forward to next year already.
