Beat:On fishing at Lyepole (Lugg)

A tough day [due to weather] on the 21st, water about 8/10 inches up but only slightly coloured, 3 Browns to 12", which rose to klinkhammers in the fast water, and four graylings to 14" on sawyers grub under a klinkhammer or czech nymphing.

Beat:Holme Lacy 3 and Lechmere's Ley

17th July Holme lacey caught 4 barbel and 4 chub again on pellet. Miserable weather and the river rose a foot in the space of a couple of hours.

Beat:Fenni Fach (River Usk)

Tues 14th, 10 Trout caught between us, 2 at 14 inches one trout kept for the table. Fish were caught on either para adams, or Gold head P.T fished NZ style.

Thurs 16th, 8 small trout caught one very large fish lost around the 3lb mark. Again fish taken on para adams or PT nymph. had lots of fish rising to the dry. River was a little high and coloured from all the rain the day before. A group of canoiest where were moving up the river from the prommade through the beat around lunch time!!!

4 brown trout, 3 approximately 10", 1 about 5", caught on Bibio and Coch-y-Bondhu. All returned.

Caught none. No fish seen. Colour fining down until the rain from 3 o clock persuaded me to retire to the bar. Infinitely more pleasurable than work.
