A cool, breezy, over cast day with some short periods of sun. We fished for a couple of hours in the mid/late afternoon. Saw some caddis hatching but not much else. A couple of fish moved and we had one good pull but didn't manage to make it stick.

15 good trout between 2 rods, most around 12 inches with a couple a bit bigger. River was just about wadeable in the glides following very wet weather, but the water had cleared well so fishing was possible but not easy. It helped being left handed ! good sporadic hatches of LDOs beween 11 am and 4pm which meant a good number were caught on the dry. Many thanks to Alison in the booking office for being so helpful. We though the river was borderline fishable but ended up having a great day on a lovely beat.

No luck. Only had the chance to fish for a couple of hours, not ideal when it's your first time on a beat. I could of saved some time by not setting up the fly rod.
