Fished on the home patch today from about 10 until 2.30 p.m. Very sunny, and blessedly less windy for most of the time today than yesterday, and consequently enough Grannom, March Browns and a few LDOs to get fish interested. Had ten rising and non-rising fish on Grannom pupa emerger and March Brown Duck's Dun style patterns. Had a few grayling and trout yesterday as well on the same patterns in more adverse conditions. Nice to be out!

Lovely beat in beautiful surroundings made all the more impressive by warm sunshine. River flowing fast with only a slight tinge of colour. No rises were seen all day. Caught an out of season grayling of about 1lb 8oz on a Czech nymph and lost another as it came to net. On the same deep run in the afternoon caught a 6in WBT on a heavily weighted Greenwells nymph. Have always stuck to dry fly on previous river trips so I am now well pleased with my nymphing success! Also missed a few takes. Will definitely be back later in season.

Nice but blank day, level was the lowest I have seen it in the last few weeks but still high and fast flowing. Wading possible on the Lines & Vanstone (at least) but hard work with the current. Water coloured but not grossly so and worth having a go with a fly although I spent more time with a Flying C.
Huge Grammon hatches at times, particularly late morning, but no trout rising to them.
Banks very slippery near the water, particularly on Maddox and Corner Tree.

Slight breeze and clear blue sky. Heavenly evening.
Fished for 3 hours 5:30pm - 8:30pm Many fish rising.
Took two small (1/2lb) brown trout in relatively good condition, off the top on a black and peacock spider.
Saw many (well over a 100) dead frogs in the margins.

Fabulous day on one of my favorite beats, weather warm and sunny but still managed 2 WBT in the morning to a Greenwells Glory, one about 1lb the other a little heavier. Lost a bigger fish (honest) to the same fly.
Grayling of a nice size, followed by two more WBT after lunch on a March Brown. All fish caught on the flats by the bridge and all returned. Fished 8.30am till 3pm
Many thanks yet again, Great day.
