river conditions good, decent flow. Fished with pellet, hoped to have caught a few more barbel but just one of those days! Bit concerned about the parking by the trees; when it rains that area is all but impossible for anything other than a 4 x 4 and then tricky. Any chance of some hardcore/hard standing since parking by the grid is now restricted to one car?

As others have commented, access and parking are excellent. The day was extremely hot and the flow above the boulder weir almost nil. Would have chosen to fish the deep water below the fishing hut but two anglers on the opposite bank were feeder fishing to my bank! Fished fifty yards upstream for three hours but couldn't buy a bite. Even though fore warned about the hill, I opted to move below the wood. I now know this to be a bridge too far for a man of my years. If you must attempt it, travel light enough to allow room for the oxygen bottle.
After four bite less hours I painfully retraced my steps and had a final hour below the fishing hut. Still not a twitch. Unfortunately not a stretch that I am likely to return to.

Managed to rise a single fish. The fish were very spooky even though they were feeding quite well.

Best days fishing in a long while, since the early 80's in fact on this reservoir. Must of been stocked a day or so before I'd guess? Float and spinning produced the goods. Well pleased considering I blanked in the same spot the week before! Guess my luck was in!

7 barbel to 8.8lbs and 5 chub to 4.7lbs between us, once again avoiding the popular swims up top and doing something different!
I managed to lose what I suspect was a carp because it headed for Symonds Yat at high speed and smashed me up despite heavy barbel gear. My old man also lost a good fish to the infamous Wye snags, but we've fished this river for over 20 years so are used to these things.
Always a pleasure to be on the Wye.
I note with some concern though that there was a dead pike up on the path and there were forked sticks that had obviously been put in place as rod rests in several swims. If they were anglers that have booked, all well and good but it may be getting fished on the snide.
Great day though, can't wait to go back!

Started at 6.30am Barbel. Form the first cast sport slowed as the sun got higher around 10.30am so trotted a stick float in some fast water and had 8 chub to 4lb on sweet corn. Returned to original spot after cloud cover arrived and had 3 more barbel, the best was the last fish that was 9lb 3oz. Another good day.
