Our last day and last beat so decided to do about 12:30-7pm as we had to travel back. Really nice wild looking beat, but due to time constraints we decided to fish the accessible swims upstream in the deeper water.
I decided to put about 10 feeders of bait in to see if anything was about. Unfortunately being too eager, I caught a barbel within 5 mins of my first cast. It was all quiet after that probably due to me catching straight away instead of resting the swim. My brother lost what felt like a good fish and had a couple of chub.
I wish we could of fished the evening as I have no doubt we would of caught again. A great day on a lovely beat though and we were kept entertained by some huge fish leaping clear of the water upstream from us. Can only presume these were salmon. On another note care should be taken in the wet as it can be very slippery, next time we would definitely take a ground spike and a rope. Many thanks.

Difficult day with low air temperatures and high winds with constant squalls blowing downstream. Once again nothing rising of any note and mix of dry fly and gold head nymph secured the few fish. Lovely water and a favourite of our group but it was just colouring up after two days of rain so not in best shape.

Water levels low, and rained hard all day. Managed to turn a good fish in the 'chines', but didn't hook up. Two small brownies later in the day. Lovely piece of water, access not to bad. The owner was kind enough to call me prior to fishing with a few hints and tips, and this made my selection of tackle and fly much easier. All in all a lovely beat, with a very helpful owner. I shall be returning.

First blank day out of 12 but lovely morning. Two anglers using illegal fishing. Phoned the help line advertised here and response was very positive. Bailiff here within hour and had a word with one who was leaving area. Bailiff (didn't catch name sorry), phoned me back and was very helpful. Impressed.

7 chub caught from various swims, most coming from the faster water towards the top of the beat in the first hour. Struggled for fish the rest of the day despite trying numerous other spots. However, really nice place to spend a day despite the lack of fish.

Not a bad day, very slow till 2pm then for an hour a feeding frenzy with 6 chub and a barbel, then another between 5-6pm with 5 more chub and four barbel lost in weed. It was either rip them through it or hope they would swim out not one did and they all shook the hook - gutted!! Lovely beat will try the wooded section next time and leave all unneeded kit at home.

A nice bteak in the weather proved for a good dsys fishing although it was quite windy for most of the day. Water levels were rising throughout the day, rising over a foot during the session. The quality and size of the fish caught was much better than previous sessions with all trout 2lb plus. Let's hope they stay that way and as always, staff very friendly and helpful.
