20lb ( weighed and photod) fresh silver cock salmon on home tied yellow belly imitation tube fly. Landed after two 60 yard runs and numerous cartwheels. The bottle of champagne kindly donated by WUF last year has finally been opened.

Cold cloudy day with rain in the air but came to nothing. A small hatch of LDO's at about two but only a couple of rises seen Had two trout of half and three quarters of a pound both on olive nymph just under the surface. Should have been more, lost at least five or six. Enjoyable day

No sign of a salmon but had a great day and will definitely be back when the level has dropped a little.
Thanks to Mick the gillie who was excellent.

Unfortunately didn't connect with anything, but this beat is a hidden gem. A huge amount of work has been done in managing the banks and virtually all areas of the beat are fishable by fly. Great welcome and lots of good advice from Nathan the ghillie. I can fully recommend this beat and I will definitely be returning.

I fished this stretch this time last year and the fishing was better with a few more fish rising, the water didn't feel as warmed up so the fish were not so free rising and confident in taking the fly. I did raise a few fish but nothing connected.
Met a couple of blokes who were checking the Dipper nesting box.

Nice sunny spells but still cold, stream very clear now. Intermittent hatch but saw only 1 small trout rise twice in quick succession, no other trout seen nor any interested in my nymphs. However, in the last pool where the Escley joins I had a firm pull on a small gold head GRHE, followed by a strong fight from a good looking 14" Grayling that was returned safely.

Very cold, odd fish rising on bottom beat but couldn't get one to take. Red Kites were out in force, I've never seen so many.

River 0.68m and clear. Good to be out on a lovely spring day. Winter spates have moved some gravel making wading easier. Rock pool looking possibly shallower but may be more flow pushing into the Chine. Intermittent hatch of Olives between 1 and 2 p.m. but only 1 or 2 risers. A few March Browns also seen. No takes but still a lovely day.
