Nothing of any size but all in excellent condition with very fat bellies and all taken on nymphs. The most interesting catch of the day was a trout on the point fly and a Sage rod with a Hardy reel on the dropper fly, it turned out a visiting French angler had lost it last month and the beat owner is going to return it to him. Hooked and lost a better fish after a close quarter tug of war in the pocket water and tried in vain to tempt a very good fish that kept turning at the last moment to the dry fly. Always bring a wading staff to this beat.

Nice days fishing, good conditions, river coloured but not too high. Had 2 barbel in the early afternoon when it started raining. 2 chub when the light started to fade and 4 barbel one after the other right at dusk. All fish on pellets. Chub around 4lb all the barbel were around 4-7lb. All down in the wood section in the fast water.

Fished pontsarn up, casting tricky but the bow and arrow cast of a small gold head yielded two small fish. Fish ultra spooky in very clear water.

Lovely stretch of river with some good swims that have been cleared, it was raining and the water was high. I fished for about 5 hrs, I used feeder tactics with sweetcorn and pellets and with the objective of catching my first ever barbel, had a few chub and 2 that were a really good size and then in the late afternoon the rod went zing! and low and behold my first barbel! Amazing, not sure on weight but it was 60cm so a good size! Thank you!

Tenkara Day, accompanied by Roger Smith, this return is for me only, the other anglers will submit their own returns. Started fishing in light rain about 12.00pm, finished at 4pm in full rain. River remained clear and was not high.
Grayling were in superb condition and both were good sized - filled my scoop net, weighed approx 1.5lbs. Both took a size 12 barbless partridge and orange.

The river was fining down and a little too deep for wading so we were confined to 4 or 5 pegs all of which looked interesting with variations in current, creases and eddies. Most people will prefer the top swim, although we caught fish on all the pegs. We fished with an in line method feeder and medium sized drilled halibut pellets on a hair rig. It was a memorable day with constant action with near perfect conditions. My only word of warning to roving anglers is that only one bank of this beat is fishable and this is just a long field, approx 1/4 mile long, so a more appropriate description should be single bank fishing of approx 1/4 mile!
