No wonder the fish are lethargic, just walking around is hard work in the heat. Great beat if you like roving. We have fished it for many years now.
Happy with today's result. Usual 10mm pellets and small groundbait feeders. Red kite spotted on the way there and then Buzzards, long tailed tits, and woodpecker on the beat.

Great day. Fished opposite wier gardens, on pellets all fish came late afternoon. River low, weather very warm. Never fished here before but would go back - can drive down to river, 4x4 not needed in dry conditions.

Arrived at 9.30 after the 4 hour drive.25 degrees centigrade so a hot walk round the wood,had a walk round and started fishing around 11.00, chub first cast. The fishing was steady until around 3.00pm, after this things picked up and by 9.00pm 9 barbel and 28 chub had graced my landing net,by the time I had packed up,the walk back through the wood was quite dark glad I had the headlamp.

Evening visit. Water levels still bank high, felt like luke warm bath water. Blank saved with 2 fish both about 13 inches at last knockings. Hardly anything rising.
