fished the legg meadow , usual pellet/feeder combo .barbel were 6 and 8 lb, but the star of the show was a 6lb 4oz chub
which is a pb on the wye for me. Its a lovely place to fish, nice and peaceful , plenty of wildlife to keep you occupied, but I would comment that whilst access is easy at the pumping station it can only take two cars although a bit further along
you can park on the verge (one car) but its not ideal . We did talk to Don and he explained the issues and efforts are being made to improve parking. The swims are (during lowish water conditions)down steep banks and when wet quite slippery and for those of us of more "mature " years , you would need a team of sherpas to get up and down the bank. that said, there are a couple of swims in the meadow that are just about fishable for the older gent...... will certainly try it again.

Struggled a bit on what looked like a good day for it. moved around the beat and eventually hooked a barbel which came off the hook almost immediately but landed one soon after of 8lb 13oz, lovely broad fish which put up a great fight. My companion then hooked and lost one and that was it for the day apart from a chub of around 3lb at dusk. Lovely peaceful day until loads of anglers descended on the opposite bank at dusk shouting down the bank to each other.

A late afternoon session, river was low and clear, but with good cloud cover and mild temperature all seemed about perfect...fished pellet feeder with bites coming from the off, barbel to 7lb and chub just to under 5lb, excellent short session.

Last attempt of the season to flush out a salmon met with failure. So a poor end to a poor season and I will be praying to the river gods for better next year!
