Lovely looking beat, however with water low and constant weed flowing through we drew a complete blank. We knew we were a day too soon for the heavy rains of the previous 36hrs to kick in.

Fished lower end of the beat, middle section only had one swim and did not get to upper section. River very low roving tactics produced 4 barbel to 9lb 3 chub and 1 good perch from the mill pool

River level still low and clear, intermittent (some heavy) showers-3 barbel to 7.13, 8 nice chub and 1 large eel maintained interest throughout the day.

First time fishing this beat nice and easy to get to , loads of room to park your vehicle and lots of river to cover , that much I didn’t know where to start ! The weather was dreadful for the first half of the day but gradually improved . I started at the top end of the beat with the shallow gravel banks but was unsuccessful, so moved back to the fishing hut for the evening session , finally got some action which saved a blank day .
Great beat with lots of options , will be back to explore some more

8 Barbel, 30 Chub

Very wet morning, which meant I didn't move around much. Fished near pylon bend and had 3 of the barbel at the start during the heaviest of the rain. The other 2 came in the afternoon when the weather cleared up a bit. All fish caught on pellets fished with a PVA bag of pellets. Best fish was 8lb 6ozs. Also had an otter put in an appearance.

Short session as the river was still very low. Nothing during the late afternoon but five barbel in the last 90 minutes.

The river was in perfect condition. We caught half our fish on dries and the rest with a french leader fishing the ruffles and deeper pools. It’s a lovely varied beat and one we will be revisiting sometime in the future.
