Feeder with halibut pellets. River low and alarmingly, disastrously not a strand of weed for egg laying and fish food store.
Beautiful warm day with some sun and cloud. 15 barbel of varying sizes to nearly 9lb and 16 chub in the 2 and a half to 4lb bracket. All in very good condition and fighting fit.

I was fly fishing and it was a complete waste of time. The water level was so low that it was extremely difficult to get near the water's edge because a lot of the bank was too muddy to walk on (like quick sand) and the rest of it was too steep and rocky (no room for a back cast and dangerous). I tried to fish for one hour before I gave it up as a lost cause.

Very disappointing day on a beat we've normally done ok on. Difficult conditions - desperately low and bright sunshine and river just seemed completely lifeless.
