Very quiet all day, until late evening 'fish-a-chuck' madness.

Simple to park and easy access to the swims, not much access to swims due to high banks and erosion.

Fished opposite the island, bites and hook ups all day however couldn't seem to get a good hold. Changed hooks and hook length etc. without any success. Should of probably tried lightening the feeder but didn't think on that at the time.

1 nice barbel, so happy overall

We only fished the afternoon - from about 3pm into darkness. We fished both pools - both feeder fishing with hair rigs. We caught 6 chub between us. One chub was almost 5lb, 3 were between 2-3lb, and 2 were smaller, around 1-1.5lb. The bigger chub were caught in the most downstream pool.

Due to other plans, we only fished a few hours in the morning. Trotted a float through various swims. Had one decent chub hooked by it threw the hook while it was being reeled in.

The forecasted rain never came, but I still managed to get wet by falling in just before lunch ! Fished nymphs all day in a very low and clear river. The fishing was difficult at times because of the strong winds. Ended up with a few though with grayling to 15" and trout to 11"
