Blank for me today, I'm afraid. Lyn Davies fishing the other rod had two nice grayling. Incidentally, the allocated car parking here is a morass of mud at the moment.

Beautiful venue, water absolutely gin clear. Even saw a small hatch what might have been large dark olives or similar.

First visit to this very pretty beat. Quite a lot of ‘skinny’ water and not many deep pools which made for challenging fishing, especially with the crystal clear water. I managed 2 lovely grayling, both just under 40cm - they are there! Parking is close to the fishing but the designated area was very, very muddy.

A chilly and misty morning, but arrived to find the river looking lovely - perhaps a touch high at ~135 on the Erwood gauge but crystal clear having been falling all week. I thought I might be on for a bit of a red letter day when a grayling snaffled my nymph on it's first drift, but in the end it didn't seem that the fish had really shoaled up, and I had to work quite hard for my 7 fish (and 3 oos trout). Six nice 10-12 inch fish, and one handsome 16-incher. All on tungsten bead nymphs.
A party of ~8 kayakers floated down early afternoon, and happy to report they were very considerate, asked from well upstream where I would like them to pass, and were in general very friendly.

Good conditions as the river continues to drop from the recent floods. Plenty of colour in the water. 5 chub to 3 1/2 lbs all on the feeder. Every swim produced through the day. Very enjoyable session.

Very nice peaceful beat set amongst farmland. Much of the bank is pretty inaccessible due to vegetation and fallen trees, but this does create quite a wild feel to the stretch, and given that it is quite a long bit of river with access along both sides I found enough areas to keep me occupied through the day. Parking well sign posted in farmyard and was on a hard concreted area. Walk to the river was easy across pretty flat fields. River level was still dropping and perhaps was carrying a little more colour than I had hoped for, although unsure how clear it gets in the winter as was my first time on the Lugg. Managed 3 grayling on trotted maggots, and several bumped off as well, but they didn't seem to be 'having it'. Biggest went 1lb 5oz. Would be interested to return when the river is a little lower and clearer.
