Fished upper section starting above the weir at Berwyn sidings, caught two grayling. Then a couple of miles downstream of Llangollen. River level up - all caught within a couple of feet of the bank (red collar PTN).

A bitterly cold day and wading more than thigh deep for fifteen minutes at a time was more than enough.
Most of the session was spent guiding my young nephew, a newcomer to river fly fishing. He did get his first grayling though, a nice fish of 1lb or so on a cased caddis. We did hook half a dozen other fish, most of which failed to reach the net.

Awesome stretch of river! Took one 10" ish grayling on a ptn early morning, then a blank for the rest of the day. Had a great time exploring all the pools, will be back in the summer!
