Fished only a couple of pools, river still carrying a bit of extra water. There didn't seem to be a lot of bird life either which is not like the beat. Sometimes you meet people enjoying teaching their sport and being very courteous at the same time, 4 canoeists came through me but kept well out of my way, even had a wave. Back to the fishing, didn't see a trout rise nor any salmon, didn't catch any either. One thing to note somebody has left a pair of wading boots in the hut, must of been recent as they were still wet through

River probably at 1’5” today but as the Llanstephan gauge is still a storm casualty it was difficult to judge accurately. Alternated between salmon prospecting and trout fishing. No salmon seen but the milder temperature saw small numbers of LDO’s floating by for most of the afternoon. All of the fish 9-10”, from the flats and the Mill pool on various spiders and nymphs.
Partridge and Orange most successful. I was too slow on the strike to hook the many other offers.
There were a lot of canoeists on the beat today, but at least they were courteous and kept away from where I was fishing as best as they could.

the weather was rather windy, but we were successful. Water level higher than previously fished, but looked very 'fishy' ended with 1 barbel (6lb) and 7 good chub, all around 3-5lbs. all fish were in good condition.

A trickle of olives from noon brought some trout up. Will have to sharpen the reflexes to make the most of the very quick takes. A tiny grayling saved the day, caught on the dangle near the bridge.
Still, good to see rising fish so early in the season.
