Stunning day at Talybont!
First time fishing this gem of a reservoir and the weather could not have been better. Slight shifty breezes all day with periods of sun and clouds. Water was fairly clear as to be expected. Tried a variety of nymphs and streamers with a few hits early but none landed. After a quick picnic lunch we set off again in the upper end shallows and we’re able to connect with several fish landing two solid Browns. Both fish fell victim to a size 10 bead head wooly bugger with a fluorescent orange bead. Will definitely return as the water warms, lots of potential here!

Not a bad in all with the weather , 2 in the bag out of 6 fish ticket and lost 1 . Water was a very choppy and a little cold on times with the wind so this may have played a part on the day as I had to fish it hard for the two in the bag

Fly fishing. Normal water level for Towy

River about 18" higher than ideal, makes this beat impossible to cross given that it's double bank. Not one to fish until the levels have dropped for sure.
