A few fish seen rising morning and evening however no sucess on our fly selection. A very bright warm day. Nice setting for the day no one else fishing

So I was asked by Tim (South African world fly-fishing team member) and his mate Peter over from South Africa , we visit this old haunt of mine for must be coming up 30 years , very trick downstream wind and Tim had given Peter his rod with 20ft leader Tough. shortened it down a little and mixed it up with a few techniques that Peter was not familiar with more of a story on my facebook page flyfishingwales we caught 12 trout , 3 shad (wye Tarpon) 1 Chubb, 6 grayling

Blank I'm afraid. Water very low.

14 in trout on nymph. Stopped fishing lunchtime as too hot.

This is a very nice stretch of river, consisting mainly of shallow glides and pools, some quite deep. Caught four brownies, one of which was about 10oz, the others about 4oz. All taken on a dry (klinkhammer).

Slow around midday picked up between 1.30 and 3pm 4 fish caught in quick succession. Good condition fish, weights between 1.8 kg and 1kg. Some noise disturbance from 2 parties of Canoeists

Blazing sun all day. One fish on Griffith Gnat and one lost on swap nymph. Lots of Black Gnat and Olives hatching but few rising. Four lads swimming in Bridge Pool scuppered the day!
