Another fantastic day to end our 4 day trip.

We've had the trip of a lifetime with 2 days of the 4 being only short sessions due to travelling from Yorkshire, somehow still ending with 66 barbel and 98 chub!

The average size of fish was well up on previous visits, but with a number of smaller fish showing which is promising for the future.

Still finding lots of anglers rubbish on the beats though which we get sick of picking up and taking home. The amount of line found on the banks this trip was shocking and must stop.

My friend and I were feeder fishing and the river seemed at a normal level.

Another enjoyable day here , weather was kind , overcast but very mild and humid . River was up a bit from my last visit but still manageable.
Two early takes here then it goes quiet, then you get a flurry ,goes quiet again seems to be the theme here but I wouldn’t change it for the world . Dusk always throws up a mad burst to . All caught on pellet . Great day ! So peaceful

For the first time in about 15 years, me and my son had a few days fishing together. Conditions should have been spot on but for whatever reason the fish didn’t show up.

We fished an afternoon session in a few noted pegs and tried loads of different baits but one solitary chub was the sole reward for our efforts.

It usually bugs me if I don’t catch but this day was different – spending time with my son who moved away last year was reward enough. We had a bankside banquet and had a good catch up in stunning surroundings.

Slow start to the day river was a good height with a little colour, most fish came to streamers with a few to nymphs and one on dry a few flies about but very little surface activity.

Fished most of the pools with a mate , 1 x nice trout . No sign of any Salmon . Pleasant day out though . Number of Mergansers we saw was a bit alarming , about time a license was granted with controlling these menace fish eating birds .
