Beat:Cefnllysgwynne (River Irfon)
Fishing:All Species (in season)
Nice weather, clear water altough on Saturday a bit murky. I fished nymphs wet fly style using fast sinking polyleader(bit weird but I like it). Fish were quite aggresive and takes were firm. I got 4 short grayling and one tiny trout. My friend was more successful and ended up with good number of fish including 5 grayling well over 40cm. He did short nymph better known as czech nymph. Wading is difficult in places - I fell over on Sunday and got wet but carried on fishing;-). The only downside is poor marking of the beat boundaries and parking. It would help if there were signs. But apart from that excellent fishing. Thank you and will be back!

Beat:Salmon fishing on the upper Wye....
Fishing:All Species (in season)
Two very enjoyable days at Pwll-y-faedda and Gromain on the 9th and 10 of October respectively but alas, no fish (although a brown trout did manage to engulf a size 4 Thunder and Lightning - which made the pulse race for a few seconds). It was good to see both beats at lower water and to meet someone who has fished one of them for 16 years. Let's hope there are more fish about next season. Keep up the good work.
