The River had dropped at least a foot but was still quite colored,7 Chub the biggest weighed 3.5lb

Not really worth getting your boots wet. Most of the beat is unfishable. Very shallow even after heavy rain. Most deep pools are completely covered by trees. I have fished wild streams for 20 years and am used to obstructions but this is just not worth the bother. I would say wading is quite challenging due to the river bed being strewn with slippery boulders.

An overcast day with a north wind. Some fish showing but no consistent rise.

Better days fishing but still tricky conditions with bright sun most of the day.

We caught it perfectly. A nice rise in the river and good colour. The fish fed like mad. We alternated stick/waggler/ feeder but it hardly mattered. A truly incredible day.

All fish taken on meat and pellets and feeder. Fished in woods above and below the faster water. All fish pretty lean post spawning.
