No fish caught. Plenty of fly life about but not many fish rising, managed to tempt a few fish to rise to a hawthorn but I failed to connect with any of them.
Saw 2 large trout of approx 15 inches, one of which seemed more interested in leaping out of the water than feeding.

Great day, water appeared to be of medium height and clear. Very sunny and hot so weren't holding out for much action. only fished till 2pm so may have missed the best part of the day. A few splashy rises gave away fish locations and the three fish of the day were all caught by casting to the rises. One on a grey wulff, the other two on a very tatty GRHE fished just below the surface. All browns, fin perfect, beautiful vivid red spots and full of energy. All released unharmed apart from the obligatory kiss.

What a beautiful stretch of river! Very hot and bright day with a slow but consistent hatch of brook duns and ther odd LDO during the day. Nothing rising but some good fish seen including a whopper - I should think 3-4 pounds but couldn't get a cast at him. Only took two fish of about 9 inches. One on a Waterhen Bloa and the other with a spinner at dusk. There was a good fall of spinner and a sedge hatch late evening which bought some fish up for an hour or so. Good fun and I am sure a decent angler could have had much more success than me. Kingfishers, dippers, kites, herons and...Goosanders!

Well, stunning place but gale force wind made almost impossible to cast. My Son caught 3 fish 6" long on wet flies Black knat and Coch-y-bonddu, would try a Boat next time.

Started at 6 to get a few hours in before the anticipated flood of canoes. Saw fish in Vanstone, Corner Tree, Island Stream and Dog Hole, but only action from from Shad. Water getting very warm and algal bloom reduced visibility to around 4ft. Decent hatch of mayfly brought the chub and trout to the top.
The canoe traffic turned out to be surprisingly light and it was the sweltering heat that drove us from the river around 11.30am.
Returned at 6pm to find family ensconced in Vanstone with kids and dogs swimming in the pool. Fished a couple of other pools for a few hours to no avail.

Beautiful stretch of water, far from madding crowd. To my surprise there were good numbers of quite large grayling - got three of 14, 15 and 16 inches, plus a 13 inch trout. All taking olive nymph (14), few rises. Fish mostly in glides (except the barbel). Fished morning only, before it got too hot.

Nought. Too bright. Dog fell in water. Saved. Decided best policy was to have a kip on the platform, which we duly did.
Gourgeous spot. Will be back
