River very coloured, 2 metres of extra water and still rising through the morning. Dispite this managed a couple of nice barbel, both around 7lbs. River started to fall a little in the afternoon, but the fish remained unimpressed and I finished with just the two bites. Could have been worse given the conditions!

12lb salmon caught on the Edw pool Sunday morning on a spinner

25 barbel 20 chub on pellet and meat. Caught fish from the top wood down to the bottom meadow.

Caught 2 rainbow trout on small nymphs
3 small perch caught on flies and lures. A little disappointed with the amount bank available for fly fishing on the water tower bank.

DOZEN OR SO BARBEL AND PLENTY OF CHUB FROM TOP OF WOODS TO MEADOW SECTION. ALL FISH TAKEN ON SMALL PELLET. NOT ELIPS PELLETS BUT THE CHEAPEST I COULD FIND.

Great venue, wide range of fish caught on the day, Chub, Roach, Rudd, Eel, Perch and Common Carp, the latter weighing in at 12lbs.

River fished harder than yesterday and we struggled to keep the fish feeding. Managed 8 Barbel and only a few Chub between the 2 rods.

First visit to the Wye. Was due to fish with my father who unfortunately could not come, so decided to make a weekend trip with my girlfriend. We were due to fish Holme Lacey on the Friday but she couldnt get the time off so started our trip on Caradoc first thing Saturday morning. We arrived to find the river around 4 to 5 ft up and very coloured. Due to the recent wet weather the track looked impassable so a long walk was on the cards. Decided to use the day as a bit of a recce as we were booked on again on the Sunday. Walked down stream and settled on a swim in the trees before the bridge that was large enough for the two of us. The swim produced 4 barbel to 7lbs in the pouring rain. The swim then went quiet, so we moved back upstream of the hut to another large swim where we settled in for the afternoon. By now the earlier rain had turned the water a brick red colour and i wasnt too confident of more action. I was wrong and we finished the day with another 8 barbel from the new swim to 7lb 6oz. All fish in good condition and caught on pellet and boilie baits on the feeder and straight lead.

First time on the beat. With that little bit of extra water on it was a very demanding day. It was however rewarded with a day out in a very beautiful almost Jurassic part of the country. Unable to stay late so missed out on the best. Fished dry sedges all day with 3 trout to 10 inchs.

Caught one 7lb salmon and lost another spinning at 11.30am.
