5 barbel from 6lbs up to 10lbs 12oz and 5 chub up to 5lbs 8oz. All fish were caught on paste wrapped boils and pva bagged pellets. Fed swims often with hemp and pellet. Really good day in stunning surroundings just unfortunate options were limited regarding fishable swims in the pool areas. Will visit again.

Lovely stretch of river. Fishing very slow. We had one small chub on pellet between the two of us. Highlight of the day was some chap from an adjacent caravan site walking his springer spaniel that left a nice big deposit at the top of my swim! We packed up at one and went to visit Monmouth.

Arrived about lunchtime in glorious sunshine, river looking well but with not a lot of colour. Was disapointed to find this stretch has been cut in half and made into 2 different beats. Luckily my favourite swim is in the section I was allowed to fish. Was not having much joy and a pike persistantly attacked my feeder as I retreived it but a quick change of tactics saw the 11.6lb tail walking predator on the bank. Once she was returned safely to the river I went back after the barbel and was rewarded with 4 bars of gold up to 9lb, lovely condition fish although one was slighty deformed (kink in body) but still healthy and hard fighting.
Lovely day in all with the mrs who sunbathed all day. You've just got to love this river.

Three trout to hand and another three that wriggled off themselves. Mostly to small weighted nymphs fished upstream. A couple were tempted by a black Klinkhammer. Nothing was showing on the surface.

Sunny morning. Water clear. We fished L/H bank - myself second flight of steps along, on promising looking swim. Fellow angler M fished last peg close to water. Caught 1 chub, lost barbel to broken hook length. M caught 1 club, lost barbel also to broken hook length and a further chub in snag.
Disappointing fish catch but pleasant day by the river.
