Started in the meadow but bites were hard to come by. On Dons advice two of us moved to the woods to shallower and faster flowing water. Had two barbel each and a couple of chub although the the bulk of the chub and other barbel coming later in the day to the rod who remained in the meadow. All fish taken on pellet fished with a feeder.

Another great stretch. Very hot day. Great swims. 4 Barbel, best 7.5lbs.
Shame we didn't catch more. Rumours of late spawning it seems. Another week or so and I think things could have improved. River looking perfect, just a touch of colour.

At 7.25am I caught an 11 lb salmon in the Cafn pool on a size 10 Cascade. I saw it rise while I was having breakfast, so I gulped down my food and bingo!
