7 x trout 6-12 inches on small Rusty Klinkhammer, one on a Goldhead Hare's Ear. This morning was a matter of finding somewhere which wasn't coloured - the Wye was and so was the Irfon. Ended up on the Edw and fished the upper part. The average size of fish on the beat seems to have gone up a bit since I last fished here, but we are going to have to do some trimming this winter I can see. Otherwise, there was a rainbow over the Edw valley for much of the morning, but it was more storm than sunshine and quite cold. Dark olives were hatching already by lunchtime.

After the promise of much needed rain from the Met Office arrived to find the the river still showing its bones 0.42 on the gauge and crystal clear.
Met fellow blog brother (L.T. from Creigiau) for the first time and as anticipated enjoyed a lovely day in his company.
Swished in vain with the 15ft on upper beat then left L.T. casting for trout rising to a reasonable hatch of Ephemera.
Arrived at newly manicured lower beat and found it much more accessable. Saw a fish chase and take my Rollo Silver Bullet (copper blade) just above the cables and landed a 6lb red cock fish - safely returned.
Entered the water under Oaks with all the delicacy of a sheep falling in. Even the resulting tsunami didn't put off a similarly red 7lb cock fish which took first cast - again safely returned. More salmon madness. Two in 15 minutes-another great day!

River very low and clear, weather showery and windy. Still able to drive to the water.
A slow day but found a few fish towards the lower end of the beat mid afternoon, best 6lb barbel and a 3.5lb chub. A pleasant day thank you.

A really tough day on very nice looking stretch of the Wye. The weather was much kinder to us than the predicted forecast inferred, but that didn't help the fishing unfortunately. We tried just about every swim on the beat but no bites were forthcoming until around 6pm when we saw the first fish. 2 caught and 3 lost (a couple of monsters), better luck next time!

Very low and clear water, not a great deal of flow. No bites all day on a variety of methods and at various locations along the stretch.
Highlight of the day was two Chinook helicopters coming at speed and at treetop height up the river, so low you could feel the downdraft and clearly see the pilots.

Very disappointing 2 days on this stretch with not so much as a semblance of a bite and saw only 2 small chub rising. Though access to the river is easy with some swims helpfully cut in, much of the stretch is all but unfishable. It should also be noted that it looked as if someone had cut a swim into the section that is not supposed to be fished.
