River had a tint of colour. Very nice stretch with great access to all swims. Barbel caught early and late in the day with fish to 6lbs on the feeder and halibut pellet. Chub very obliging when we swapped to maggot feeder mid day whilst barbel had stopped feeding. Had fish to 5lbs and fighting fit.

River was a little up but looked good, weather was mild and mostly cloudy, river looked perfect. All fished with feeders and mainly pellets and some meat. After an early barbel of about 5lbs and a good 5lb 8oz chub and a few missed bites, the encouraging start to the day went very quiet. 2 barbel, both 8lb 8oz, followed late in the day along with another chub of 4lb 4oz.
We all enjoyed our day there but not really the beat for 4 anglers to be honest. The one concern was a pile of lager and cider cans along with a hot dog container just left in one of the swims. Can't believe any decent angler would leave that and hope our European friends aren't visiting this spot.
Look forward to visiting the Wye as soon as we can again.

Quite an adventure to the beat. Two barbel within short time of arrival to small hooks and long hook links. Pellet hook bait and pellet feeder. Even after examining the river with a lead I still managed to get snagged. River a little coloured and fantastic. Both fish caught at the bottom of the beat. Enjoyable fishing.

The river wasn't particularly high so I was surprised to find, when I arrived, that it was thickly coloured with visibility down to two inches. Might have been ok for barbel but I was fishing for pike, and blanked!

First time I had fished this beautiful beat. It looked full of promise but, in the event, I saw very few fish all day. Those that I saw rise were frustratingly unreachable and the day ended blank.

5 fish caught between JD and JE all between 10 and 18". Two large WBT (16 and 18) fell to klinkhammer dry as they finned around shallow pools for fry. Generally not much hatching although big fish were rising throughout beat particularly towards dusk.

Used feeder tactics in swim at downstream end of venue. Took two Chub including one fish of 2 and a half pounds. Also caught several Dace, Roach & Bleak. Conditions difficult as recent rain meant there was quite a lot of floating weed in the river.
Very beautiful surroundings and a helpful bailiff made it a pleasant day. The only observation I would make is that the swim I used and several others I saw appeared to be quite treacherous with mud and steep banks meaning it was very easy to fall in, a big enough danger at this time of year but even worse in Winter. Difficult to suggest a solution other than to warn visting anglers to be extra careful.
2 Chub, 5 Other
