1 small trout caught early using ledger/worm. No one else was catching on the same side of the reservoir, however opposite (road side) we could see plenty of fish being caught! Our luck wasn't in unfortunately.

A very pleasant day despite the sweltering heat. The beat was very easy to find and well maintained although the high banks were a bit challenging.
I had one good 4lb plus chub on pellet, a smaller one on meat and a little pike on a lure.

A very pleasant afternoon. 4 small trout and 1 of 12". Also caught no end of salmon parr (one on every cast in some spots!) which is a very encouraging sign for the future.

Fished from 11am to 4pm. River low, peaty colour. A few deep holes with fast running gutter channels connecting. Saw a shoal of chub very close in to the bank. Amazed by the grayling, missed 5 plus due to seeing them come to take the fly! Started with a lead bug then changed to a pix/caddis dry fly which did the trick. Slow pools had rising fish where fast water entered pool. The large fish waited to take, best grayling 16inch fish (measured) which jumped three times! Great day in nice coutryside.

In order to fish upstream it is necessary to reach the downstream limit, by bank, preferably.
The path indicated on the map provided really barely exists and it is very easy to end up on the wrong side of fencing - a few simple arrows would be very helpful to first time visitors who want to get on with the fishing and not worry about how to access it!
Fish were few and far between and very small but lovely water and surroundings and for £10. Overall a happy day.
