Fished from 8am and caught one 2.5lb rainbow trout on the bottom at 4:30pm. Didn't see any fish rising. Disappointing day really, I think the ticket price needs adjusting!

I had a very pleasant evening fishing from 4pm to about 7.30pm.I fished the comfortable swim on the roadside and despite the silk weed which seemed to be covering the river bed I had 2 chub around the 3lb mark and finished with a hard fighting barbel of 4lb 8oz. I had intended to fish a little longer but the rain started so I packed up to avoid a soaking. By the time I had put the gear away in the car, the rain had stopped so spent the next 30 mins feeding the shoal of fish under the willow on the far side of the bridge. First on the pellets were the chub then small Barbel appeared followed by 3 or 4 larger Barbel in excess of 6lb. The enthusiasm they showed in searching out the pellets made me wonder why we sometimes struggle for bites!

Only fished for 3 hours in the evening to avoid the canoe circus. Two small barbel - one very small indeed at about 10oz - and a decent chub.

Fished just below "Lucky Pool" and regularly caught chub throughout the day. The Barbel switched on early evening, it was then one every cast. Access to the pool is not easy, leave your chair behind as you'll be stood in the water or sat on a rock so you may wish to take an unhooking mat to sit on, although its easy enough to unhook the fish in the water. Stayed at Bowens B&B opposite the church in the village.

Dry fly. Was there from 11 to 3pm and only saw one rise. Didn't catch any fish or get a take for that matter.
Lovely stretch of river although almost impossible to access banks in wooded areas which is a pity as these might have been promising.
Great booking service, thank you.

I was disappointed to find this beat so overgrown that it is almost unfishable at this time of year. Some of the bank is 3 to 4 feet high & therefore you can't access the river from these banks. The rest of the bank has been allowed to become overgrown. I could only find one point where I could access the river. There are many obstructions on the river so it was almost impassable. Not a beat that is worth fishing at this time of year.
