Arrived at 2.30pm and had wonderful sunshine bit of clouds a strong wind to start which eased of to nothing as evening drew in. Lake looked lovely and had 16 Brownies all on the dry fly and used several types of my own tying but the fish didnt seem fussy! Mainly used a size 16 with a grizzle hackle trimmed underneath so fly layed down in surface better with a small bit of black mole dubbing as body.
Again drove down to the lake easily in my estate.
Evening rise was fantastic with fish rising continually for several hours and great fun with some. The biggest Brownie at just over 10inches.
Back next year without a doubt!

Fished all morning until the heavens opened. Very few places to cast from. No takes or fish seen, tried all sorts. I would have booked a different water myself if I could have worked out how to do this using the new system - too diificult for me, don't think I will bother trying again.

I note the comments from R.H. From Ledbury re illegal fishing on this stretch. I phoned about this last year where one family fishing worm stationary on same beat most evening, cans of beer lobbed in made it ever more picturesque.

Fished Tuesday saw no fish apart from the one caught at end of day- a 1.5lb Brown in excellent condition. Because of the lack of fish sightings we did not fish on Wednesday as booked. Heard from two different people that this stretch of the river is netted by you every year - and no fish returned after drought in the summer. No wonder there were no fish to be seen - not even fry. It is a beautiful stretch of the river but if you are going to net it every year you should make it clear when advertising this stretch that the likelihood of catching or even seeing a fish is minimal.
WUF Note: This section of the Teme occasionally dries up in hot summers due to the local geology (flows remain upstream and downstream). When it does, Natural Resources Wales and/or the Environment Agency carry out fish rescues. The upstream migration of trout to spawn grounds every winter should ensure that a new stock of fish is present for the start of the season. If such a rescue takes place we close the beat for the remainder of the season.
