Fished a short spell late morning, early afternoon but it didn't really get going as it was bright and sunny so we took a few hours off and came back at 5pm and got settled in for the evening.
Bites came as soon as the feeder landed for the first hour and then steady for the rest of the evening. Most fish were very small with one or two going to 6.5lbs. Even so the small ones in the 1.5 to 4lb range were still fighting like crazy. Used medium sized elips pellets today.
Today's wildlife included sparrowhawk, kingfisher, tawny owl and ducklings sat in the landing net.

Lovely beat, with excellent access. Very bright and hot conditions, but still managed to winkle out a few good chub on mini boilies.

2nd day on beat still low and clear but more flow than yesterday. 6 chub between 3lb and 4lb 11oz and 1 barbel 7lb 11oz all on feeder tatics. Farmer strimmed swims in the morning making it a lot easier to get to the river in many places.
WUF Note: These were WUF staff carrying out clearance work on behalf of the owner. Many more swims are now available on this beat.

Two salmon parr taken on Adam's parachute. The Edw, as advised by Wye and Usk Foundation, was extremely low, but I found some fishable pools and plenty of willing fish in a short two-hour evening session. Only had the two but must have had at least a dozen lightening takes.

Fishing:Trout (River)

Water very low with a stiff downstream wind. I fished over the shoulder of two quality fish in no more than a foot of water without spooking them. After fifteen years of this type of fishing I should have more faith in my casting, always something to learn. A perfect day in a perfect stream, two ten inch trout returned.

In addition to Penpont,I also fished Cefn Rhosan Fawr ( also pre-booked ) on June 27. On both beats, no catches, little fish showing but good fly life. Cormorant seen at Ashford from the Talybont bridge.
