Lovely stream though a bit of an obstacle course to wade up through. Caught and returned two small wild brownies - tough day but thoroughly enjoyable.

2 Trout

The river was at a good height but very murky with visibility less than 40cm. No fish caught or seen.

Fished from 7am until 11.30am. Caught 4 in total after losing 2 at the net. All 4 fish caught on popped up worm. Was a great session only marred slightly by the weather (heavy rain) was brightening up as I was leaving..... TYPICAL...

4 Trout

Water levels settling and clear after recent rain. Slow start with a few missed takes to deeper nymphs. After a couple of hours 2 fish to the net on GBHE - 10 and 15". The fun started after lunch when a series of warm spells, as clouds blew over, coincided with several short hatches (March brown and olives I think). A quick change to a dry brought up a large trout which was eventually coaxed into the net. 18" and deep for this time of year at 2lb 12oz. Another 10" fish an hour later capped a very satisfactory first day out - I think I'll put my feet up for a few months.

4 Trout

A cold miserable day though a sign of spring was the first house martins of the year. Just before rain stopped play made brief contact with a heavy fish on nymphs fished deep. Otherwise no sign of fish or fly.

River dropping and not to much colour.Fishing for salmon in monks run with a Stoats tail double. Caught a hard fighting Sea trout 18".

1 Sea Trout

Height 1.02m lovely colour. Had an enjoyable 5hrs of of exercise with the 15 fter. No sign of salmo salar but a 3/4 lb trout took exception to my Feeler Cascade. A moderate hatch of Grannom when the sun came out at 11.30 but no risers. Light hatch of olives at 1p.m. Just one or two showed interest.

1 Trout

What a contrast to yesterday on the Irfon. 3 Trout and lost count of Grayling 15+ All nice fish around 10" - 12" a few a bit bigger. There was lots of Olives on the water most the day, no fish coming up for them, I did not see a fish rise all day. Caught all my fish on small gold head PTN. Lost a really big fish, went off like a train downstream and hooked pulled out!
Really enjoyed my weekend despite my blank yesterday, I will be back.

3 Trout, 15 Grayling

Great conditions this week end. Fair weather and the water clear with a good flow which is holding well enticed a few rods out. Alastair Campbell hooked and lost a fish on the Island stream on beat 3. The fish straightened out the hooks on his shrimp fly. In the afternoon, Stuart Smith saved the day with a 12lb fish from the gravel bar on beat 4. Plenty of good trout taken and all returned.

1 Salmon

A difficult day chilly and overcast. Sporadic rises of March Browns which accounted for majority of fish on dries. Nymph fishing not very productive. The trout caught were all of a good size 1lb + fish the best being around the 2lb mark would have been heavier but showed signs of recent spawning. Quiet a few takes were missed. Fish were a little reluctant to take hard.
