Not much in the way of fly on the water, at about 1pm there was a half decent trickle of bwo's and true mayfly which I was pretty shocked to see this early! sadly only the odd fish rising to them so stuck with nymphing. average size of trout 12 inches with one nudging 14 inches and all grayling between 10-16 inches. what a difference this river is without any rain water pushing through, gin clear and quite low now and a stealthy approach was needed . All trout and grayling came to single 2.5mm tungsten bead Baetis nymph.

Day three of my trip with more hail and the never ending cold downstream wind. The desire to endlessly cast the long rod with French leader searching for numbers had left me so snoozing on the bank waiting for flushes of March Browns at likely looking spots seemed like the Gentlemanly thing to do. The short action that happened rewarded me with three fish with the best at a very solidly built 17" which put up a great fight. All taken on size 14 para Adams.

Difficult day with very cold strong wind blowing down the river. Did see a hatch around 1300, but nothing rising, stuck at it until around four then called it a day and prepared to come back next day and hope wind has reduced!

Jones senior took two trout to a green olive. Both good sizes. The Second fish was the largest at just under 1Ib. Lovely scenic beat, shame about the wind and hail stones!

Shame about the weather hailstorm and snow one minute then the sun came out for half an hour and a olive hatch with brought on the fish.caught a lovely little brown that fought every inch to the net.looking forward to my return.

Great afternoon's fishing with plenty of action. A few olives hatching but no real rises. Most of the fish were caught on small copper coloured tungsten bead nymph.
One point to be aware of is that there is a large tree down, which dams the river, by the second gate from the start of the beat. The only way is to climb over the trunk as there is no way round it.
