Started the day on the very end peg on left bank (near sign) after the rapids. Difficult peg to fish (over hanging trees) but nearly a bite every cast which all turned out to be chub with the biggest about 4lb. Move later in the day to a deeper run looking for the barbel and fished the middle section. 6 barbel followed all on pellet biggest about 6lb. River looked very low but enjoyable day. Not many swims to fish but a small beat with enough accessible pegs and with some water I would expect the catch returns to rise but on this occasion 6 barbel and 12 chub we were more than happy with.

River was low and clear. we fished pellet on pellet waggler and had eight fish between us.T he fish were all in the 4-6lb bracket.
I would not recommend this stretch for more than two anglers as the swims were limited and there were 7 anglers on the other bank mostly either wading across to our bank were there was the most flow or feeder fishing again onto our bank. This meant that the limited number of swims were even more limited.

River on its bones now. Not much hatching. Landed 5 grayling 4" to 12", on a small beaded GRHE from deep pools and on small grey duster para. Saw no trout except one that took the para and then came off quickly. More encouraging, there were small fish in nearly every run, splashing around - managed to catch a couple at 4", both grayling so the assumption is that there are a lot of grayling parr in the river. So much so that they were usually first to splash at the para everywhere. Stayed till 7.00pm but no evening rise at that point.
