Dry, sunny, warm, and calm. Low clear water levels. Difficult terrain on upper beat – to say the least. Through-out the day there were two distinct olive hatches. Upper part of beat observed no rising fish - through-out the day. Change tactics and patterns with no success.

Evening fish, 5.00pm - 8.00. Bright sunshine with slight breeze, fished the far bank in the deeper slower moving water. No hatch and nothing rising so fished #14 black spider and bibio sub surface, but no interest. Saw one fish head & tail, but that was it! Beautiful beat, unfortunately not the right time to fish it that day!

First time on this beat but with the weather being so hot knew it would be difficult. Fished the lower beat and found parking and directions easy. Was amazed to see how clear the water was and could have been on a chalk stream. Access is not that difficult but wading is a must. Fly life was having a field day but the fish stayed away. No takes but will return later this year.

Nice evening on a lovely water. Sadly strong wind made casting quite difficult. Access to the lake side is very limited and may need some additional work to free up a bit more bankside.

I think I should have started earlier than 11 as it was all over by 1. A few olives and sedges around when I started and occasional Trout rising. 6 Trout to 10 inches caught on a DHE. Switched to nymph after lunch but apart from a few pulls nothing else caught. 23 degrees when I finished we'll soon need some rain!

Lovely day on the water. Best conditions early morning before Sun became strong about 11am. Saw one fish jump in ash tree pool about 8am. Thought I got a pull at bottom of little run mid afternoon but no reward. Did have an eel 2ft long swim over my boots which was interesting.
