Water high and coloured after torrential rain but fish were feeding when they could be located. All fish on pellet and feeder with most coming near the lugg. Lovely stretch of the Wye and Special mention to Glynn who was very helpful when we arrived and took time to show us the best spots to fish. Will definitely return when River is at normal level.

3 years since the last, so today’s fish @13lb to hand was a relief to say the least. Caught on a small bottle cascade fished deep on a fast sink tip slowly in the spring pool. Saw a big fish show 3 times in the tail of the ferry but not playing. I can now enjoy salmon fishing again.

This beat could do with s work,we could only find a couple of spots to safely fish.
It was a wet day which made things even more taxing.Having said that we had a good day with the river just right. All fish taken on feeder and boilies.

Fished 5:30am-9am. Rain came in and water quickly muddied. Should have packed up earlier. One pull on pheasant tail nymph. Other than that not interested. Wading was impossible in places, had to track back to find entry points as bank is raised.

Managed a couple of hours early morning in the pouring rain. River in good order, banks very slippery. At least I got the season off to a productive if wet start.

River conditions looked perfect, calm, overcast day ideal after wet start, angler needs practice ! Chub fell for various spicy meats, barbel not so gullible.

This was a surprisingly poor day. I usually find that overcast and stormy conditions can lead to hatches of fly and general activity. Sadly this didn't happen. There were a few yellow Mayflies, (not yellow May Duns) and I saw 2 large trout porpoising. No sign of salmon though. I really thought that after the rain in June fish would have been brought to the upper reaches. I've seen just one salmon this year, and that was on the Usk.
