Only managed to fish for about 3/4 hours over the middle of the day. Water levels were right at the limit of what is fishable, on a few occasions I could even spot trout following my nymphs! Lost quite a few flies in the trees and worked hard at some of the deeper pools. Crawling on my hands and knees ended up being necessary in order not to spook the fish.
All in all I took four trout at about half a pound, although they were absolutely stunning fish, some of the prettiest I've ever caught. I will definitely be back to this beat, hopefully after a dose of rain this week, there are some big fish in those pools apparently....

River looked good, one angler fished the woods, found it very difficult to fish, but managed to land 8 Barbel , all on pellet. The two other anglers fished near the hut. One angler managed a 9lb 2oz Barbel and 5 Chub. Third angler only managed 1 Chub. Not a very productive day, but a joy to be on the river again.

Did not fish. We booked Foy and the Creel. The River was extremely low and this stretch is full of streamer weed. Very limited access to any swims, banks are very overgrown. We simply could not get down the areas we wanted to fish so did not even bother. Waste of money. Would not recommend fishing this stretch unless you have waders and a box / platform to get out in the river.

Booking Office Note: The River Wye is a SSSI protected river, which makes cutting swims very difficult - although some swims have been cleared along the beat. The streamer weed (Ranunculus) is also a SSSI protected species, so it can't be cut and cleared, but is also very important habitat for the fish. The low river will also make access more difficult, and we do always encourage anglers to take waders or wellies with them to suit all circumstances.
