Solid rain. Nothing rising to the surface. And they weren't interested in my nymphs.

Mr Johnson's antics mercifully ensured that I only got quizzical looks from my family, rather than a full-on interrogation over whether the afternoon had provided value for money, when I returned home soggy that evening.

Weather a struggle, occasional heavy showers. Chub at weir and below boat house, rocks a problem beneath the wall. A good location just the wrong day. Easy access and a beautiful stretch. Will be back. Broken a couple of times !!!

Fabulous beat with good access caught 5 chub 1 juvenile barble and an eel in the morning. Andy the gamekeeper came by early afternoon we had a nice chat very informative about local wildlife and fishing. Caught 2 good size barble in the afternoon around 8-9lb. All fish caught on pellet or meat. Another lovely day on the wye.

Salmon parr x 2. A wonderfully secluded beat and sufficiently testing fishing especially when trying to drop a fly under overhanging branches. All four fish were caught on a CDC emerges/dry fly pattern.

2 Trout, 2 Other
