Began at 6.30 am and finished at 3.30 pm. It was a slow hot day with almost no rising fish, the first 3 came within the first hour and all fish caught were small, the largest trout 10” the rest including the grayling around 8” , all were caught on #16 Para Adams despite prospecting the deep water with nymphs. Fish were congregating at the head of the pools. The Irfon was still too high to safely reach the whole river and pushing through quite strongly. 0.47 on the Cilmery scale.

Another great day spent on the beat. 4 trout and 2 grayling all good size caught upstream of the bridge on size 12-14 pheasant tail nymphs. Lots of hatches occurring but few fish were rising. Some lobster sized signal crayfish and lots of Himalayan basalm so remember to check, clean and dry gear after fishing.

Very hot day so finished at lunchtime. Quite a bit of weed being picked up. Nice barbel around mid morning on pellet and feeder. Other was an eel.
