The Usk appears to be well stocked at the moment although there were more people there than I expected and I also suspect some were fishing without tickets. The bailiffs did not attend to check permits. All in all it was in interesting days fishing. hooked and returned around about 5 perch well past the reserve area towards the far west of the reservoir. The perch seemed to be feeding on the bottom and were taking trout flies.

Another scorcher inbound , so up with the birds and parked up at the Whittern pull in by the corn field at half five , reading 17 in my truck then !!! Quick covert number one , then waders on and geared up for a quick session this morning . . .
Initially opting for a single tiny aqua Baetis nymph, success straight away first to head of pools , z good stamp.of brownies this morning too ,and in s tallyof nine to the net , six were really good chunky eleven yo twelve inch fish , also had three slip thf hook !!!

By half seven , some splashy rises, couldn't see what was on the menu, so opted for an eighteen Parachute Iron Blue , and good takes to that also this morning , had five more fish to the dries , all before getting to the Titley Bridge , great fun , sun starting too beam down by then to , so casting tight into the shadowy areas of the stream. Shes looking a bit low now, could do with another helping of the H2o on Friday and dont be shy either !!!! Plenty of it please !!!!

Fished a hundred yards up passed Titley Bridge , having one more fish to the Baetis nymph, then called things a day at half eight , getting hot then and think I'd had the best of the sport for the morning, great fun here as always , give the Hindwell a bash in a couple of days , looking forward too that already. . . . . . Happy days !!!!
