The water was very low and I caught nothing. However the access was poor and heavily overgrown and was very hard going.
I also saw two young mink near the railway bridge.

A lovely stretch, fished last swim on left hand bank. Fairly steady though had a few baron hours in the afternoon when the sun was strong and of course low water levels. Probably should have tried a bit of trotting but difficult when sharing a swim. Barbel didn't show but a good stamp of Chub so an enjoyable day.

A cooler day than of late with a bit of welcome cloud cover. The river low but in great Nick… no slime anywhere and weed growth showing. Water temp 17.5 when we arrived 11.30 … 18 by 15.00 and 18.5 by 17.00. Water level dropped by an inch over this time was dam water being released?
We hoped for a hatch but nothing consistent forthcoming… plenty of sedges and gnats around though … a few spinners first thing and occasional duns in the evening were the only ephemera.
Fish sporadically rising throughout the day although not in the usual places. 10 trout between us up to 16” all heavily spotted beauties and 5 grayling including 3 in the 16-19” size range which we haven’t seen for a couple of years. With the water so clear every stone on the bottom was visible even in the deep runs but the grayling just appear out of nowhere . Magical!
All fish taken on usual parachute dries and all swam away strongly ….

A busy few days, so was really nice yo get out on my own ... .. A lovely session too !! Ten till half two, strewth the little Clywedog Brook needs a top up .... big time !!!!
First things first, when i got there, thermometer dipped, reading 14 degrees ... most of this beat is heavily tree lined unlike the ithon , which must be sixty percent is in direct sunlight, hence reading 17 degrees there the other day ... it even felt cold on the little Clywedog today ... crystal clear, spooked loads today, even with my ninja wading !!!!!
Nine to the net on dries ... only two risers , the rest prospecting .Funny sort of weather too, bright , about 18 degrees with a fair old gusty breeze too.... most annoying to be honest !!!
Didn't see Tarka, but, plenty of prints again, and fresh too !! Thr kingfisher was up and down and I even had a great view of him on his sitty branch, a metre above a lovely pool ...Would have made a cracking photo with a decent pukka camera.
A fun session although to maximise enjoyment it needs topping up at least six inches I'd say ....Then sport will be more fun, still an enjoyable few hours on an old favourite ....Back on one of the Edw beats tommoz.....Lovely jubbley !!!!! Ohhhh WUF ANY NEWS ON THE ARROW BEATS AND THE CRAYFISH SITUATION ????
