Only had a couple of hours spare, so made my first visit to Oakfield, early evening. River fairly low. Occasional mayfly coming off. Saw a few rises, and my small mayfly got a few takes. These Welsh wild brownies are however , quick to reject an artificial, hence none to hand. Must improve my reaction timing!!

Beautiful beat on a beautiful day. One take but lost at the net and nothing more. Plenty of fish about but bright and clear conditions made it difficult fishing.
Lots of activity at dusk as I was leaving and will definitely be fishing here again!

A lovely part of the world, though we were unlucky to see very little fish movement at all today. One bite that went un-set was all we saw. Access is pretty good, with lots of recent fence work having been carried out.
