1 Chub

River looked great and was on the drop with levels at 0.7m at Ross. I was confident of a good day. I worked the whole stretch from top to bottom and back again and managed 6 chub. Not a barbel in sight. The usual pegs that I caught lots of barbel before I couldn’t get a bite. Lovely beat though and Andy the gamekeeper is a true gent.

Water falling after recent rain. 0.8 on the gauge was a good height for the river. It is a lovely secluded spot with plenty of streamy runs and pots to fish but the wading can be tricky in places. We caught our fish in the morning on Sawyer Killer Bugs and they were all returned. It went quiet in the afternoon as the temperature dropped but it was good to see several salmon show in the pools during the course of the day. There is plenty of water to occupy two rods for a day in this idyllic spot but it is hard to do it justice during the course of a single visit.

2 Trout, 1 Grayling

The river was up slightly but dropping however the drop in temperature seemed to put the barbel off, managed a few chub on pellet best just over 4lb.

This was a very speculative end-of-season cast for salmon. We were not successful on that front, but did catch four small brown trout. A lovely beat in beautiful countryside.

river very running very quick could not hold a lead, only fished in the slack waters. but my first trout so very happy

A quieter day than normal here. Pellet feeder was most productive method.

2 Barbel, 6 Chub

River looked in great condition, moderate flow. Unfortunately fish didn't seem very active and only had one Chub about 1-1/2lb and another better Chub of 4lb on meat. Besides that only had 3 other bites between us.
