Parked up about elevenish, had a chat with the gent from the cottage by the bridge, always seems interested in the fishing etc etc ......
Anyway headed right down to the bottom of the beat, staying well high away from a very shrunken Duhonw ..... rain pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease !!!!
The pools look ever so trouty from above, I'd basically set up my usual small streams outfit, with a tiny Para Greenwells initially... Had two pretty quickly , superb fun ...very careful wading, and fish nailing my dry in the faster stuff !!! Lovely confident takes too .....
I noticed a chappy walking down high on the left hand gorge as i was looking upstream, which happened to be Brian Parkinson ... hadn't seen him in ages ..We had a good natter I stated I'm only fishing up to the bridge, with dries, what a kind soul !!! ...Brian had his tenkara outfit, fishing tiny nymphs I think ...
We cracked on, I managed another two , all fush between seven and nine inches. Always stunning colours here....Had my lunch at the bridge, at half two, then onwards to the Wye @ Builth. Club water... and, I turned up with thr grannom action in full swing !!! Sport was fab, albeit I had my small stream rig, mattered not, every fish was looking up!! Fab sport , eleven brownies , and five stunning grayling....Two a good size as well !!! So, really a day of two extremes !!! A diminutive mountain stream, then the glorious Wye !!! A cracking dry fly day !! I think a can of Inchs Cider is well and truly called for !!!! Lol .........

First trip out this season and parked up at the pipe bridge around midday. As I walked down to the bottom of the beat I came across JA's truck at the middle bridge. Great to have a catch up with Joe and left him to fish the lower section.
I fished Tenkara on the middle section and managed a couple of trout on small nymph.
Water very low and clear but nice to be back out.

Very difficult. Bright sun, clear water, few rises. Beautiful location with stunning scenery. We did wonder when there were no other anglers.

Only able to visit for a couple of hours. Bright and cold wind and very little rising despite quite a bit of insect activity. No success but a nice stretch.

Cold start to the day! Very clear shallow water. The section up stream from mallhollam bridge has a lot of over hanging trees and dead fall across the river which can make it tricky casting.
Very little/no hatch’s, so dry fly wasn’t an option. I was euro nympthing for most of the morning. I saw maybe 3 or 4 brown trout but they were very “spooky” and I had no luck.
