River unfishable - too dangerous to wade, despite little obvious rain for some days. Did not even cast a line.

Lovely day on the Upper river ruined by approx 20 canoes, clearly an organised group. This is happening all too often and despite being told that they should not be there by the beat owner, they carried on regardless.

Only fished for a couple of hours in the upper sections of the beat. River looked perfect but I couldn't find the grayling. They are there though. One oos brown of about a pound. Hope Rich the other chap booked in did better!

Block booked the day but bumped into another angler that had also been allowed to book the day in the car park. Day worked out alright but disappointing that the system does not work as expected. Beat is a challenge with lots of over hanging trees and some deep pools. Bring your bow and arrow cast and heavy nymphs.

Fishing Passport Note : This was the only booking taken this day. An Order Confirmation email is proof of booking and should be taken on the day of fishing.

A puzzling day on the Irfon. Despite perfect conditions, the better grayling were completely elusive. Most were tiny shots, just one of 3/4lb with another of same size lost at net. A few oos trout about, none of which looked close to spawning. A good few salmon were seen.

Lovely spot and a nice beat for trying a bit of trotting with maggots. Most of the swims I wanted to fish were accessible. The weather was glorious with blue sky and sunshine most of the day, but perhaps not ideal for fishing. The glare off the water from the low sun was a problem at times. No grayling caught, just a small out of season brown trout. Really need to brush up on my flost fishing skills.

Nice day out on the bank, plenty of Chub. Best part was when my old fishing pal fell in up to his neck. Priceless :)
