Fantastic days fishing, weather was perfect and river level was just right. The rocks are currently very slippery so be careful when wading.

Lovely day just bouncing through the beat , albeit I was very doubtful in my mind of catching any silver tourists with the river being on its bones . One can still enjoy listening to the birds singing and other wildlife flitting by.
Stopped at the hut for a bite to eat , always enjoy sitting on the veranda for an hour or so , really appreciate the hut being there for us, what I don’t appreciate is the person who smoked and left his butts everywhere and stubbed his cigarette out on the shelve of the hut . Bloody moron ! I cleaned your butts inside the hut too , not only could you have caused a serious fire but also ruining it for other members ( unless you was on a day ticket )

3 fish caught on weighted nymphs and one on a dry (elk hair caddis). Water clear, sunny and warm and fish rising in places late morning.

Tough going in very bright conditions and a shrunken river. No hatches or consistent risers but fish enthusiastically feeding subsurface and produced decent sport in the riffles and faster glides. 10 nice fish caught to 16.5” and 5 lost including a better fish of c.18”. All on Copper John fished under a DHE.
