Very hot conditions and very low water made for difficult fishing. Managed a very small trout in some riffled sections with a small gold head ptn then another smaller one later with a small elk hair caddis.

Although the catch return would suggest I've had a productive day, the opposite is true. All today's fish were pretty much caught from one pool. I would estimate that 80% of the water is unreachable. I'm 6 3" and I have been stung in the face trying to get to fishable swims.????
£60 fuel on top of ticket. Won't be back I'm afraid.

Warm sunny day and low water levels. My fishing buddy, there were two anglers, have decided it is better to collaborate than complete, so I’m going to report our collective catch at 11. The fact that he managed to locate two graying shoals (I didn’t think they did that in the summer) is irrelevant. I fished the challenging water and managed to hook a fine wbt. He, I have to concede is the better river angler, and took the rest.
